A wonderful way to have the best summer is to try new things! It’s the best time to explore the wild side and discover passions you never thought you had. Instead of sitting at home, binge-watching Netflix, try something new! My summer began a few days ago and I am already struggling to make plans and find things to do so I came up with some things to try out. I compiled a list of 5 things that everyone should try to accomplish this summer.
Create ‘your’ workout // During the summer, the majority of people like to get that “beach bod” which means you have to workout and eat healthy foods! I say ‘your’ workout because everyone is different. Don’t just follow a workout you found on Pinterest, create a workout from that template. If your body prefers weight lifting, then find the perfect machine and circuits. If your body prefers yoga, then determine whether you want to flow or sweat. This is the time to explore what kind of workout’s you enjoy, so have fun with it!
Write in a journal // The summer is the perfect time to sit down and enjoy some ‘me’ time. If you’ve never written in a journal before I encourage you to do so. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or well written, but it’s a great way to keep track of your memories which will be fun to look back at in the future. Journaling also helps calm the mind. If you had an overwhelming day, journal! Sometimes writing down your feelings can cure all the weight in your body. And, the best part is this; if you can’t think of anything to write, doodle!
Learn to cook // This is something I ned to do this summer. If you’re entering your freshman year of college like me, cooking is vital for the future. I’ve never been that talented in the kitchen so learning to cook will be super beneficial! My advice is to start with something easy, like spaghetti, then move on to more difficult meals. And, who doesn’t love trying new foods?!
Read a book // The majority of you will have a summer reading book, but read something of your desire. I enjoy soppy romantics and mysteries, but find a book of your choice and read it! This will also keep your brain working throughout the summer since, I know, most of us are not doing any school related work.
Invent a friend activity // I think all of us can agree that whenever we hang out with our friends, there is always a time where we never know what to do. So this summer, I challenge you to create a new and fun thing to do with friends! Either a new game outside or a new sleepover activity! Anything! And when you do come up with something, leave a comment on this post so everyone can enjoy spending time with their friends in a new way!
